The Naran's New Zealand Adventure - The Skiing!

...so the first couple of days were spent skiing at Coronet Peak...just out of Queenstown

Very impressed by the ski hire place in Queenstown - they
worked tirelessly getting everyone sorted out and fitted up....no mean feat when

there is a family group of 17 people!

the importance of starting off the day with a coffee!

Day 1 - learning how to ski!

Phil and Charlotte trying to work out  which slope to attempt next!

hmmm...broken strap !

Phil and his well needed coffee break!

The worst part of skiing is taking off your boots!!!

time to dry out those gloves...

the view from  Coronet Peak

After 2 days at Coronet Peak the snow was becoming wet and slushy so the next
3 days were spent skiing at the Cardrona skifield....had to travel a bit further but it was worth it.

The journey up to the skifields....we only had to put chains on the tyres once!

Cardrona.....great for every level of skier!!
There was no way you could keep tabs on 17 people....but every now and then, travelling up the
ski lift you would spot someone familiar coming down a slope.

Snow capped peak as far as the eye can see!

the trick was getting off at the top....and on a snowboard that was tricky!!

Half way through the week, some needed a break for the afternoon.
Stopped at a lookout en route from the skifield to Queenstown....

forget skiing....lets eat snow
snowboard versus skis....

...first attempt and discovered a few people missing *sigh*

...second attempt and all 17 of us present and accounted for
